Working together to improve and protect water quality
In all watersheds there are upstream and downstream neighbors as water passes through many jurisdicational boundaries - those are just three challenges while working to improve and protect water quality on a watershed level. Working on a watershed level may seem overwhelming, however, it can be done. It starts with working together to create consistent Plans, Policy and employing Practices related to Land Use to prevent water pollution, reduce stormwater runoff and manage what can't be reduced to mitigate the liklihood of flooding downstream.
We've created a Toolbox of Tools for Watershed and Land Use Planning to help you get started!
